Adrienne Hetherwick

I’m Adrienne Hetherwick, Director of First Baptist Day School. I have the responsibility of overseeing daily operations of the Day School, along with providing all children with a creative and educational learning environment, managing teaching staff, developing curricula in coordination with teachers, communicating with parents, and introducing Godly principles. My belief is that the foundation of learning starts now, therefore the Day School will provide a place for all children to grow socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

My husband, Thomas, and I met in 2011 while both attending Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, L.A. After graduating, I started teaching for the Rapides Parish School Board, teaching at Cherokee Elementary in Alexandria. In November of 2017 Thomas and I were married, and welcomed our first child, Adler, in April of 2020. We also have another baby that is due in November of 2021. Our family resides in Pineville and we are members of First Baptist Church.

Ministry Service: My ministry has always been in the classroom. I have used my calling of teaching to show grace, mercy, and love as Christ does for us. I have also spent many summers teaching Vacation Bible School and volunteering for our Children’s Ministry.

Life Scripture: As humans, we tend to worry over things that we have absolutely no control over. This verse has always been very near and dear to my heart. Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
