UPWARD BASKETBALL AND CHEER

Upward Basketball is designed to build athletic skills, character, confidence, and spirit. Upward Basketball programs are committed to developing the TOTAL athlete mentally, athletically, spiritually, and socially.

Upward Cheerleading introduces athletes to the basics of the sport. Cheerleaders will learn numerous cheers, chants, and pom routines while discovering how to engage and excite the crowd.

Every year we facilitate Upward Basketball and Cheer on our campus. It is an awesome opportunity for children from our community to sharpen their basketball and cheer skills in a Christian environment.

UPWARD SEASON DETAILS

We look forward to having you and your child a part of our Upward basketball and cheer program at First Baptist Church Pineville. Our Upward Cheer and Basketball Evaluations take place October 5, 6, and 8th between 5:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. You MUST attend one of these nights to be fitted for your uniform and evaluated on skill level. We will do our best to assign your participant to a team that matches his/her skill level, while meeting any request you have made.

Basketball Program: Our Kindergarten through Fourth graders will practice and play games at the First Baptist Pineville Gymnasium. Our Fifth and Sixth grade boys and Fourth through Sixth grade girls will practice and play games at the Trinity Baptist Church Gymnasium in Pineville. After you register and are assigned a team, you will be notified by your child's coach, at the latest, by the end of November. Trinity Baptist practices will begin the week of November 30th and First Pineville practices will begin the week of December 7th. Your child will ONLY have one practice before the Christmas Holidays.

Cheer Program: All cheerleaders will practice on Monday evenings @ 5:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Pineville campus, beginning December 7th.

During the season players and cheerleaders will have only 1, 1 hour practice per week and 1, 1 hour game on Saturdays for 8 weeks.
