21 Days of Prayer and Fasting
21 Days of Prayer & Fasting for Revival
To prepare for our revival services November 2-4, 2025, with Dr. David Uth, our church is uniting in prayer and fasting for revival. This season of preparation is a time for us to draw closer to God, remove distractions, and prepare our hearts for what He wants to do in our lives, families, and church. As of now, November 2-4 are “revival services.” How God moves will determine whether those services become a revival. How we prepare will determine how much God can do!

FAQs
What is fasting?
Fasting is abstention from food with a spiritual goal in mind. We give up the most natural thing we do to pursue a spiritual purpose. Fasting resets the soul, helps us hear God more clearly, and deepens our dependence on Him. It also prepares our heart for the blessings, plans, and purposes God desires for us.
When you fast, you replace the time you would spend eating with time with God. Prayer and fasting always go hand in hand—you’re not just abstaining; you’re filling that space with God’s presence.
Do I have to stop eating completely?
While the Bible links fasting with abstaining from food for a season, you do not necessarily have to fast from food or even stop eating completely. There are several ways to fast:
- Focus Fast: Removing distractions like social media or entertainment.
- Selective Fast: Removing certain foods (e.g., Some people do a “Daniel Fast” where they eat no meat, sweets, or bread).
- Intermittent Fast: Skipping certain meals or fasting during certain hours.
- Complete Fast: Drinking only liquids (water, light juices) for a time. If your fast will be for more than a few days, you should only do a complete fast after consultation with your physician.
- Combination Fast: Some combination of a focus fast and another fast.
How you decide to fast depends on how God leads you. Do not do what others do. Do what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.
Can only adults fast?
Anybody of any age can fast. We encourage our children and youth to join their parents, grandparents, and the other adults in our church in praying and fasting. Children and students could skip lunch or give up snacks, video game time, or another activity and replace that time with Bible reading and prayer.
How do I pray during my fast?
- Replace your mealtime, viewing time, or other activity with God time.
- Find a private place where you can be alone with God.
- Have our prayer guide, the One Hour Prayer Guide, and your Bible. It is also helpful to keep a journal during this special season of prayer.
What if I’ve never fasted before?
Start small and be intentional. Choose a fast that challenges you but is also realistic for your health and lifestyle. Most importantly, seek God in prayer and follow the Holy Spirit’s leading.
